Dr. Khushbu Shah
MD

Thank you for visiting the Element Psychiatry site.

Dr. Khushbu Shah is a trained Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. She completed her fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey and her residency training in general psychiatry at Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, New York. She has extensive experience working with mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, attention deficit hyperactive disorders, autism spectrum disorders, learning disorders, and many others. She has worked closely with school-based mental health, with a special interest in providing current, innovative treatments.

Dr. Shah believes in an integrative, holistic approach to mental health. Her approach is “the East meets the West” type. It focuses on nutrition, exercise, lifestyle, sleep, mindfulness, stress reduction, coping skills, and social connections in promoting mental health. She has completed an integrative psychiatry fellowship and offers integrative and functional psychiatry evaluations in her practice. This approach to psychiatry tries to identify the root cause of the problem that may cause or contribute to psychiatric symptoms (see the article by Dr. Chandra MD). Dr. Shah also offers school evaluations, consultations, second opinions, psychotherapy, and medication management in her practice.

Dr. Shah is committed to serving her community and helping today’s youth experience their maximum potential by providing them with the right tools through a holistic mind-body approach. Keeping this in mind, she deeply understands that the goal of every parent is to help their child grow into a better person—mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually, as she is also the mother of two. In her free time, she enjoys walking, vinyasa yoga, pilates, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Shah does not take any insurance and would be considered an out-of-network provider. Please refer to the office policy for additional information.
